Boasting bipartisan under the leadership of Delegate Jason Barrett, the West Virginia Lottery Interactive Wagering Act would allow the state’s four racetrack casinos – or ‘racinos’ – to operate gaming websites.

It would also extend that privilege to The Greenbrier – an historic hotel, casino and golf resort in the Allegheny Mountains near White Sulphur Springs.
Online gambling licences would cost $250,000 each over five years and revenue would incur a 10 per cent tax.
“We have made great steps thus far in providing greater flexibility for the gaming industry in West Virginia, and I am encouraged by the we have received on this particular online gaming initiative,” Barrett said.
“Our house finance chairman has a real interest in taking up the legislation and I believe it has great potential to with bipartisan both in the house and senate.”
The bill also features language that would prevent a number of overseas-based online casinos from operating in West Virginia.
